02 May | Gran Premio De España 2010
As the opening European event of the MotoGP season, Jerez is always an exciting GP! Who can forget Rossi's pipping of Gibernau at the last turn in 2005, setting the tone for the entire year, or Rossi's dramatic fall at turn one lap one, setting his own pace for the 2006 season! Rossi's domination of the 2007 race lulled us into a false sense of security that Casey quickly shattered at the next race in Istanbul. Dani put himself in contention for the championship with a win here last year. This is also the official test circuit, so the riders will have significant practice on it already on their new machines & teams. This race does for the season what the Declaration of Independence did for American politics!
Jerez is also one of the biggest events of the year, with crowds topping 200,000 for the weekend. And when you aren't at the GP, you really want to sample its famous local products and generally take in the always fine weather as a relief to winter blues!
Jerez circuit is a notorious traffic black hole. It is not easy to get there and back from the city of Jerez, and if you don't already have your accommodation, be warned that the city sells out of hotel rooms very quickly!
We are happy to sell you just tickets to the event, but if you want to relax and focus all your attention on appreciating the action and drinking the beer, put yourself in our experienced hands. We have three packages on offer taking care of you for the entire weekend. Our most 'total care' (and incidentally most cost effective) is our Special Package - 3 nights dinner, bed and breakfast in lovely rural hotel with free evening happy hours; and of course our track transfers and expert guide on hand. Our 'Superior' package is based in a charming 4* hotel in Jerez; with 3 (or more) nights B&B, guide and transfers. Rating as one of our favourite hotels on the planet, the boutique 5* Villa Jerez is our base for our exclusive Deluxe package; the package includes a Sunday evening vintage Sherry tasting (special guests have been known to drop in!) Do this one with the superb VIP Village for the top experience.
The weekend opens with a party at a grand 15th century Hacienda, built by a conquistador, and complete with its private orchards and wine bodega. We have lined up authentic music and superb food and drink, and a fascinating opening speaker (Julian Ryder in 2008) so a great way to kick off the season! We of course take you there and back (included in all packages)
Finally, we can arrange light aircraft transfers from Seville or Gibraltar DIRECT to the airstrip at the Estacion hotel; and optional helicopter transfers to & from the track on Sunday make traffic a thing of the past! We have Spanish-speaking guides who are on hand for you 24 hours; and of course our collectable 'Jerez2009' branded merchandise, and our hand-selected grandstands all ensure you will have a weekend to remember!
